What is FTWZ?

An FTWZ (Free Trade and Warehousing Zone) is a Special Economic Zone where goods can be imported, stored, and undergo value-added activities without immediate payment of customs duties.
Goods stored in an FTWZ may be re-exported to international markets without attracting customs duty, making it an efficient hub for global trading, consolidation, and distribution. Alternatively, goods may be cleared into the Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) for sale or consumption within the country, in which case applicable customs duties and taxes are paid at the time of clearance.
